Is there any option to automate installation/upgrade of managed service (e.g. Kafka) from marketplace?
Kindly check this github repo
I looked at it but didn’t understand how is related this topic, can you explain?
This is good, what about installing them? I want to do it from IaaC.
In KPS, services like Kafka are both installed a updated automatically as a managed service (PaaS). The only IaaC requirement would be initial deployment of Service Domain images to your local cluster or cloud of choice (Calm, Terraform, etc). From there, the lifecycle of the Service Domain can be entirely managed via KPS. You can get a good understanding of KPS concepts by taking a look at the tutorial here: https://github.com/nutanix/karbon-platform-services/tree/master/projects/woodkraft
I checked the repository, but it didn’t help. I need to understand how to implement initial deployment of Service Domain images in way that KPS will recognize them, this isn’t clear from documentation.
Hi Assaf - Kafka and other services are automatically updated as part of the standard Service Domain upgrade process.
