I can't figure out how to remove the Self-service Administrator rights from a user. In the self-service portal configuration, the account is under Users. I assume it needs to be removed from here, but I don't see any options to delete the user. Anyone have any suggestions?

HiI have installed 3 Nodes successfully nested on ESXi 6. the cluster and all nodes services are up. Was able to connect to prism and changed the default admin password. unable to login with new password.... prism keeps on showing "server error" If anyone was able to resolved this... pls help

Feeling like a real noob today…Error comes back immediately.  I have tried my email address and my NEXT username. I have verified that the CVM can ping the my.nutanix.com.I wanted to try resettting my password on Next but cannot find the link to do that in my user profile.  

For most of my vm’s that are in protection domains, the snapshot option is grayed out in Prism Centeral.  Hovering over the option I get a popup with message “One or more of selected VMs is protected via legacy DR feature.  Snapshots for these VMs can be taken from respective PE clusters only.”  This option is not grayed out for vms that are not in protection domains.  Why is that?  What are legacy DR features?

Hello We want to create an automation that any new VM based on its subnet (Vlan) will be automatically added to category. How can we do that? Thank you 

I recently upgraded my three clusters to AOS 5.5.06, AHV 20170830.94, and Prism Central 5.5 I noticed that after this upgrade, the ability to update the VM running Prism Central is now greyed out, as is the Power Off Actions. My instance of Prism Central has 16GiB of memory and is running at 96%+ memory usage. I'd sure like to increase its memory and reboot it via the proper procedure. I SSH'd into the VM and ran top to see the big memory users and the 'insights_server' and a few 'java' tasks are consuming over 10% each. Has doc been created on troubleshooting PC 5.5 VM issues?

Hello  I’m trying to figure out why We are unable to login in to Prism central as below message appear when trying to login: as it show in the dev tools ( Failed to load resource )  I have checked the apache and its not working but not sure if the issue has anything to do with httpdbelow is the status of httpd on the PCVMRedirecting to /bin/systemctl status httpd.service● httpd.service   Loaded: masked (/dev/null; bad)   Active: inactive (dead)nutanix@NTNX-1-A-PCVM:~$nutanix@NTNX-A-PCVM:~$ sudo service httpd startRedirecting to /bin/systemctl start httpd.serviceFailed to start httpd.service: Unit is masked. after that checked if a service does not start or there is any FATAL logs

Hello guys!We have 2 Nutanix boxes with 3 nodes each. Both boxes were warning about all configured nameservers are in the same /** network. Ok, this is an issue we can't fix right now, so I've turned check off. On 1 box it worked fine and we got the "green heart". On another box, for some reason, this warning has stopped on 1 of 3 nodes. At GUI the Warning table shows 0 warnings, but when I run "ncc health_checks system_checks dns_server_check" it shows 2 warnings (one for each node): Detailed information for dns_server_check:Node 172.**.**.*0:WARN: All the configured nameservers are in the same /** network.Node 172.**.**.*1:WARN: All the configured nameservers are in the same /** network. Once this check is off, it shouldn't show us this warning, right? Is there a way to turn it on/off through CLI? Thanks!!

Hi everyone,WEe are in AOS 5.20 (up to date) and because there is a problem, I need to configure some VM that are set with non english keyboard layout through the nutanix console, bu I can’t. it seems console only know english layout. Is there any to use non-english layout ?or should I fill a bug/feature request ?

Dear SME’s, How do i migrate my Nutanix AHV cluster to a different domain? Here is the core future’s i am having now, it should be migrated. Prism Element  Acropolis File Server (We have enabled AFS replica between Primary and Secondar site) Async Protection Domain from Primary to Secondary ( For VM’s and AFS) Can you please someone help me to provide the best practice of doing these changes without or less production outage? Hi Everyone,I want to ask some questions.I have 1365G6 , and then there will be two 8235G7 and one 8135G7.When all 8000 join 1365, there will be a total of 4 blocks and a total of 8 nodes.If I enable BLOCK FAULT TOLERANCE, how to calculate the available space ? After enable BLOCK FAULT TOLERANCE can I remove the two 8000s and reinstall them as a backup cluster?? Or can it return fault tolerance domain to nodes?Thanks

How to get Nutanix AHV VM bios UUID

 Our datacenter experienced a power outage yesterday and when power was restored Nutanix powered up and everything was operational (Yay!). I've been attempting to find the setting that told the nodes to power up after an event like that rather than stay powered off. On desktop systems I know the BIOS has settings for power events like that but cannot find it in the IPMI web interface. Is there somewhere else I should be looking? Thanks.

How do clean old Prism Alerts.  Within Webconsole Resolve and Acknowlege doesnt clean old alerts.  Any command would helpful.  Thanks,

I”m trying to find out if Nutanix has a scheduled patching regimen similar to Microsoft’s Patch Tuesday. How are admins informed when there is an emergency patch? Do these include patches to Prism, to AOS and firmware patches? Thank you.

Hello, masters of NutanixCould you help a beginner in trouble? I took an internal snapshot to prepare for a problem moving nodes from an existing cluster to another cluster The previous one was done well, and the snapshot was about 1.8gb, but I found that even though I deleted the snapshot, I still had about 1tb of capacity leftI got a response that the curation will work and the capacity will be back in 36 hoursBut the capacity remains the sameWhich part should I check? hi,After login to prism , i open API Reference and login with credentions.Then i go to VMs-->Clone Section to clone vm via API.I get the vm uuid via two method which on i think i get same uuid1)ssh to cvm and giving “acli vm.list”2)While console url, using uuid=”string”Both have same uuid. So i used to clone vm via api but i get error as “Given input is invalid. VM UUID cannot be specified, use idempotence identifiers to get the UUID”I also tried get existing and create new idempotence identifiers but on executing it in clone vm it gives error “uuid not existed”.Please suggest me ,i think uuid is correct but then what causing the error.Please help.

I just created 4 new Server 2012R2 VMs and this morning I see yellow exclamation points on them with the message "VSS snapshot is not supported for the VM 'WinSrv12R2', because VM has IDE disks attached" These were created with 100G SATA drives and a SATA CD-ROM so I cant figure out why I'm seeing this message. Hi folks! Does anybody backup Prism Central VMs in a Protection Domain? I was just thinking about that, since I need to move all VMs from one AHV cluster to another. That's because I need to reinstall the cluster with ESXi for compatibility with some VMs. The only way I found out is to create Protection Domains and replicate the VMs to the new cluster. So does this work with PC VMs also? Regards, Andy

Is Prism supported on all/most current browsers? I have issues with Edge and to some extent IE11. Mostly on an AHV cluster that I am testing on before I migrate my producton to AHV. Typically it is with on the VM page and creating or otherwise managing VM's. Sometimes i have issues with the log in page rendering at all.
