Running CE nested on CE. Issues with the NIC

Im trying to run an instance of CE on an already running instance of CE. So for some details:

I have 3 HP DL380p G8 (Dual 10-core 3.0GHz & 128GB RAM, P420i in HBA mode, 8x 400GB Intel SSDs). I have CE up and running on them currently.

I am wanting to set up another CE instance nested on these hosts to do some replication testing and labbing.

I added 3 disks to the VM (200GB SATA, 500GB SATA, and the nutanix installer img). I was able to pass the disk prereq test by making the 200GB disk classified as an SSD.

The issue I'm running into now is that the VM cannot see the NIC. The same thing happened to my windows VMs on the parent cluster until I installed the Nutanix Tools.

In VMware, this is the case when you use the VMXNET3 adapter over the E1000 adapter. I cannto find where to change the adapter model in CE. Any ideas?
