Hi

This article states that 'The UnDP package leveraging this MIB is available for download from the Nutanix Portal along with the supporting documentation.'
http://www.nutanix.com/2015/04/23/nutanix-is-now-validated-for-solarwinds/

The documentation (v1.1) is at
https://s3.amazonaws.com/ntnx-portal/utils/SolarWindsNutanixConfigs.pdf

and the UnDP (v1.1) is at
https://s3.amazonaws.com/ntnx-portal/utils/NutanixPollers.zip

Kind regards,
Ed

This depends on what you would like to monitor.

If you are referring to the clustered filesystem, you may want to post in the SolarWinds Thwack community or try looking in the SolarWinds MIB browser to see if there is one available for your Nutanix model.

You may also try to open a ticket with SolarWinds support to see if they can help.

IIRC SolarWinds adds MIB support in accordance with community demand, so it may help your cause to start a conversation with them. :robothappy:

If you are referring to the nodes, then that is dependent upon the type of hypervisor you have running on your nodes.

For example, if you are running ESXi, then you would configure SNMP on the nodes like you would with any other ESXi host then add the node to your SolarWinds product. The VMware community forums have several examples and approaches on how to perform the steps and keep SNMP data secure.

That is all I can do for now. Best of luck!

Please remember to post back to the Nutanix community on what you find! :robotvery-happy:

Hi ,

Thanks for replying me on the post.

This is exactly the same which i want to say. I'm using ESXI Hypervisor and made all Nutanix servers a ESXI hosts. On these Esxi hosts severeal VDI s are running.Alos i added these servers to SOLARWINDS through SNMP as they normally suggests.

But my question is that is there any other way or any other protocol to configure Nutanix Servers instead of using SNMP.

I have also raised this question to THWACK community and they replied me a follwing ansewer:

There is a package named as "Universal Device Poller package" which is used to configure the servers more effectively. Nutanix has made their own UNDP packge for monitoring their Servers/Network Devices for SOLARWINDS.

What i need is the package of UNDP of Nutanix form Nutanix support.

Kindly help me to whom i concern or from where i can get that specific package from Nutanix.

Waiting for your promp response.

Thanks.

Anyone having problems setting this up in Solarwinds? Our network team cannot get the snmp user with AES/SHA to connect to cluster just keeps failing.

Thoughts or ideas?
