Hi Stupid question of teh day
Is there a knack of removing the node blank from the chassis?
I have tried several ways and it doesnt move - tried pushing the tabs in and pulling /pushing the blank but it doesnt move - cannt see that it is screwed in place or anything.
Must be able to remove in case you want to install a 4th node.

thx

The Blank was pushed into the chassis too far - we managed to get it out eventually - so all good now

Cheers

Hi Praneeth,

There are a couple of commands to determine the node position. These commands can be executed from the CVM

  1. ncli ru ls

Example output

ID : 195
UUID : aa95f9fd-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-696d85xxxxx
Rack Model Name : NX-3060-G4
Rack Serial : 15SM602xxxxx
Position vs Host-ID : 1:9, 2:10

2. sudo vi /etc/nutanix/factory_config.json

Example output

{"rackable_unit_serial": "9914SX31090085", "node_uuid": "d2d98ffb-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-a1c2acbxxxxx", "node_serial": "ZM142S01xxxx", "node_position": "D", "cluster_id": 11xx6, "rackable_unit_model": "NX-3051"}

Hope this helps

Thanks

I encoutered the same question once, the empty blank is pushed too deep from factory. and it`s hard too pull out it , you should pull with more strength

AFAIK, you should just have to push the tabs in, and pull it in reverse.

Worst case, open a support ticket with us, and we'll put our heads together if there is something funky going on.
