Firefox tends to be the best browser for all things Nutanix, historically.

Anyhow, does it not work on all VMs? or just some VMs?

Is it all the time? or just some of the time? Has it always been this way?

Ive had this problem as well. The odd part is, it WAS working in Chrome initially then it just stopped. It doesnt matter if the VM is Windows 7, 10, 2012 R2, they all seem to experience it. The keyboard works fine, however. The mouse works fine in FireFox, IE, Edge. I tried from multiple systems and Chrome seems to be the common issue. I uninstalled chrome, deleted any evidence of Chrome, rebooted and reinstalled Chrome, and the mouse still woudlnt work. So it doesnt appear to be a cache issue.

Initial thought it is could be related to the version of noVNC we're using on the backend, filing an internal bug report now to dig in.

I will try from a Mac OS device when i get home later and report back my findings and versions.

I run an older release

Version 52.0.2743.116 m (64-bit)I have had this issue some times - but a relogon to my Citrix session fixes it sometimes..It always works in IE and FF..Had the same issue on CE.. Clear Cache etc does not solve it - keyboard is working .. But without ALT-F4 its almost impossible to do anything on windows 🙂

Nutanix AOS build will also be useful.

Internal engineering ID is ENG-72784 for this, so if anyone decides to file a support ticket from this thread, please reference this bug.

Guys,
Do me a HUGE favor and file support tickets (both of you) so we can work with you to reproduce?

I just had Prism engineering hack at this, and I poked at it myself, and it worked on Chrome 54.x and Chrome 55.x on OSX 10.11.5

Version 55.0.2883.75 (64-bit) on AOS 4.7.3.1.

Meaning, I dont see this being Chrome specific, yet. Perhaps Chrome on Windows only?

Actually, Jeff you wont be able to do that given you're running Community edition, but Zentura can open commercial support tickets.

We're happy to dig in deeper, but I've had several people look at this and we haven't found a problem.

No worries, I will try to replicate this issue on a few prodiction clusters and report back.

Good news, this issue was resolved after upgrading to latest CE code. So either it was fixed in the latest code, or it was fixed by powercycling my host server (wich i dont normally do).

Happening across the board with all browsers for myself and customers on AHV with 5.0+

edit: Keyboard is fine... only mouse is the issue.

disable the touch support in chrome://flags solved the issue for me

Absolute Genius - works like a charm

dready thanks for mentioning this.

Jon I've seen this problem at several customers, Chrome on Windows is the culprit. Chrome on Mac doesn't seem affected. Adding that note to the jira.

Thanks all.

LOL! Yes, that does work. Slick!

BUT...
I have a HP Notebook with a Touch Screen and multiple monitors. I have CONFIRMED that using a mouse with a Nutanix Console for the Guest VM does work in IE and Edge. I can ALSO use the notebook touch screen on the console and mouse (it is not one or the other).

The mouse pointer does NOT work in Chrome or Opera (they use Chromium engine)
Sadly, I was not able to get it to work yet in Firefox 56.0 64-bit.
Chrome, Firefox, and Opera respond to the touch screen, but not the mouse pointer.

I have also noticed a difference in how the actual Guest VM Console is displayed. ONLY Edge and Explore give you an option of Keyboard Language in the console window (see screenshot) . Chome, Firefox, and Opera do not show this option

CONCLUSION: IE and Edge know how to allow the mouse and touch screen to coexist, and your can use your Mouse in your Guest OS Console. Chrome, Firefox, and Opera have a problem with the Touch option enabled in the browser, which when disabled allows you to use the mouse. The fact that the "Keyboard Language" option is displayed in browsers where the Mouse does work, but not in browsers were the mouse does not, leads me to believe the two are related. Most likely, the browser is not loading or properly interacting with the functionality which is also affecting or related to the use of a Mouse.

I am happy to volunteer my time and knowledge to help where I can. How can I help?

Really need to fix if this is an issue on the non-CVE versions.
