Question

Metro Availability - Maximums Files 3600?

We are about to deploy Metro Availability with ESXi and we have been checking the maximums on the documentation https://portal.nutanix.com/#/page/docs/details?targetId=Web-Console-Guide-Prism-v510:sto-metro-availability-c.html

Maximum number of files for all the entities in a protected container = 3600
Maximum number of files for all the entities in a consistency group = 1200
Maximum number of files for all the entities on a remote container = 50000 (because of snapshots)

Does anyone know what 'Maximum number of files for all the entities' means in this context? Each VM on ESXi will have 17+ files associated with it on the Datastore so is our actual max VMs per storage container more like 180?

Hi

"Maximum number of files for all the entities in a protected container" implies number of files(It could be .vmdk,.vmx,.xml etc) for all entities(vm's) protected by metro on container

Same applies for Max number of files for all entities in consistency group and on remote cluster
