If an SSD tier has low usage say 20%, will data still be moved to the HDD tier?

How long do they stay there?

Sorry for the slow response, yes, data will stay in the hot tier if there is low utilization. Basically, we fill up the hot tier first, then start deciding to move the coldest blocks down to a different tier if needed.

jkcp1 - Happy to help

RE Architect - Depends on how you look at it.

From a technology perspective, we've got a design expert certification track called Nutanix Platform Expert, or NPX. You can read a bit about it here: https://next.nutanix.com/t5/Nutanix-Platform-Expert-NPX/Nutanix-Platform-Expert-NPX-Program-FAQ/td-p/2063

Rene's also got a great blog about this here: https://vcdx133.com/2015/03/06/nutanix-platform-link-o-rama/

From a professional perspective, I've been at Nutanix going on three years, and have been fortune to be promoted into such a position.

The Josh Odgers mentioned this; it will stay in the SSD tier until that tier is 75% full, then ILM starts migrating.
