Hi,

I think bare metal is node that does not have nutanix installed, and the factory prepared node is always preloaded with AHV (or other hypervisor which is depending on OEM strategy) in factory before shipping to customers.
Hi,

Thanks for the reply. In that case when we will get a bare metal node?Because Nutanix always ships the hardware with pre loaded AHV.

Hi,

I think the scenario is that you only order Nutanix software and work with your old hardware.

Nutanix always ships with AHV by default and you have to reinstall it to your desired hypervisor.
Anyway, Foundation installation always just take from 1.5 to 2 hours with 4 node cluster so I think this should not be a big time consuming problem

Bare metal nodes are those that are not factory prepared and you would to image with the help of Foundation SE

Factory Ship Node:factory shipped node will have latest AHV and AOS image,if you would like to install different AOS or hypervisor you would need to use foundation to re-image

Thanks,
