Changing HDD on NX


Hi all, i have a NX-1365-G5, with 6x4tb e 3x1tb ssd an vmware as hypervisor.

Can i replace all my drives with 6x8 tb hdd (i suppose to move all vm to another cluster and reintsall all from scratch, is it right? Is there a hcl for my NX-1365-G5?
Or my NX-1365-G5 have to die with these hdds?

Hi Ozzy,

There is a procedure to upgrade HDD capacity in a deployed cluster, basically you will have to remove the old HDD through the Prism web console, wait for the data evacuate from the disk and then replace the HDD with the new bigger disk.

About the disks sizes compatible with NX-1365-G5, you can see that it supports the following:

1x SSD: [480 GB, 960 GB or 1.92 TB] and 2x HDD: [2 TB, 4 TB, 6 TB or 8 TB]

Not sure if you plan purchase the disks from Nutanix, but I still recommend you contact your Nutanix account manager to validate if the new disks is compatible with your node before purchase disks from a third-party vendor.
