My Cluster is running Acropolis 5.0.2 and I am having problems upgrading it using the "Upgrade Software" tool in Prism. Regardless of which software package I try, the pre-upgrade check fails with the error "Client transport error: timed out". Mr. google has turned up zero hits with this error.

I have happily used the "Upgrade software" tool successfully in the past to upgrade Acropolis. The 3 hosts are running ESXi 6.0.0 and I am running the Vcentre server appliance 6.5 as I have other hosts running ESXi 6.5 on Cisco blades. NCC has report no faults, only that the NTP server settings are by IP and not by FQDN.

Can anyone explain what is causing this error.

I ran the "cluster status" command on the CVMs and found that there was a problem with Genesis on one of the CVMs, even although Prism reported nothing wrong and the NCC healthcheck reported nothing wrong with genesis or the cluster. I ran "genesis restart" on the problem CVM and now cluster status shows all is well and I no longer get "Client transport error: timed out" when I run the upgarde pre check in Prism👍🏽
