All, I have a 6 Node 1065 system in 2 blocks.  Recently one of the CVMs (node 2, block A) crashed.  When rebooted it was just going in loops.  When diagnosed it seems the SSD (not the SATADOM) had failed and we replaced it.  When we try to boot the CVM, it still just loops. We were told to boot that node with Phoenix which the cluster provided me for download.  I do that and it doesn’t load Phoenix and gets errors instead.  I’m looking for a suggestion of how to get the node back to 100%.  At this point (and throughout) the ESXi on the SATADOM has booted fine and I guess if I didn’t care about the storage side I could just ignore this but I’d like the system to be fully healthy. Any suggestion about how to get the CVM working again would be appreciated. Thank you Johan

Hi, I am having two physical sites with on-prem nutanix cluster. I am trying to config async dr from primary to secondary site every one hour. So the snapshot will trigger every one hour and replicate to the secondary site. I read in the portal , the first replica is a full copy and the subsequent are incremental. My question here is , once my first replica, which is a full copy of my data was completed to the secondary site and certain period of time, my first replica will expire and deleted based on my retention configuration. In that case, how can I restore my full data with the help of incremental snapshot from the remote site?

I work as cyber security engineer.My client wants to deploy Nutanix on-premise and want to integrate existing ERP (Epicore) to Nutanix.Client has total 7 plants, including 1 Head Office and 6 Other plants at different location.Below is the network diagram that i have created:.  I just want to know where and how should i integrate Nutanix, for better performance??What will be the Node details ,i.e, how many nodes are required?What will be the Node configuration?Requirement is Nodes with Gold Processor.!!!Server: Dell R640 Power Edge, RAM: 512, HDD=960GBx6  

Are there ANY plans to expand on the PowerShell cmdlets at all, specifically for getting host info? They’re pretty bare bones. I don’t even know the last time the cmdlets were updated/expanded. It seems to me Nutanix regrets making them and hopes they will quietly die. I have relied heavily on PowerShell to keep tabs on a very large Nutanix environment running Nutanix on both AHV and ESXi. I’m talking 700+ nodes. The ESXi clusters are no problem getting the info from because I use VMware’s PowerCLI to supplement the lack of data I can get with Nutanix Cmdlets, but the AHV clusters are another story since I don’t have PowerCLI to fall back on. Can we at least get a cmdlet that will allow us to use PowerShell to initiate ncli or acli commands, like VMware does with the “Get-EsxCLI” cmdlet. That would be very helpful.

Hi, Im planning to add 2 more blocks NX-3060-G6 with 2 nodes on each block. Currently i have 2 Block Nutanix NX-3060-G6 with 2 Nodes on each block.Current topology is 2 Block nutanix connected to Cisco 2960X with all eth interfaces connected to it. My question is, In NX-3060-G6 there are 3 Ethernet interfaces, 1 for MGMT (IPMI) and there are other 2 eth interfaces and 2 SFP+. For networking purpose,Do we need to use those 2 eth interfaces from each node in order to work? Or do we need to use only 1 eth interface only on each node? We’re adding 1 more switch Juniper EX4600, so if we need to use those 2 eth interfaces, can we separate them? 1 Eth interface to Cisco 2960X and the other goes to EX4600? Can i have different VLAN on each interfaces (exclude MGMT) that i connect to switch?Sorry if my question isn’t clear enough. But i hope you do understand it. Thank you.

You might have noticed that the versions of AHV hypervisor have names starting from the year, such as 2017 and 2019. For example, AHV-20170830.434 and AHV-20190916.231.  The difference between them is that the versions starting with 2017 are built on CentOS 6 image, while the ones starting with 2019 are based on CentOS 7.    It is very important to note that all the 2019 AHV versions are only compatible with AOS versions 5.16 and newer. It means that the current LTS AOS versions 5.10.x and 5.15.x do not support AHV 2019. The AHV 2019 is currently supported only with STS AOS versions.

Hi,I can’t access LCM in my CE cluster. It just says “LCM Framework Update is in progress. Please check back when the update process is completed.” It’s been like this for days. Updating Foundation and NCC worked fine the old way.I can’t see any active tasks in Prism or using ecli task.listAny ideas?

Hi i need to download AOS 5.10.0.1 LTS

I have a W2k19 VM I created as a patched image. Idea is to patch it monthly. Shut it down and clone it. Then sysprep the clone and copy the disk to the Image Service. Then I can create VM’s off of it. I will repeat the colne after patching the ~master image monthly in order to keep a patched disk ready to spin up VM’s from. We are using AHV, version 5.10. Mt question is the “CLONE” a full, independant copy of the VM ? TIA -S

I’m looking for more details regarding the use of the “filter” attribute and getting a list of VMs.https://www.nutanix.dev/reference/prism_central/v3/api/vms/postvmslist/  I've been able to filter down VMs returned using the filter = “vm_name==my-vm-name” in my Rest API quiries but I was looking for some more examples.In particular it would be great if I could find VMs by IP address or MAC address to try and hunt down VMs without doing a full VM list query.Is there additional documentation on the FIQL filtering options in the REST api?

Hi all, I’m very new to Nutanix, and pretty new to Ansible. I’ve been tasked with updating / installing guest tools on any machines that need them, and they’d prefer to do it via Ansible. I’d like to be able to have Ansible use the uri module to grab the UUID of a given VM, or grab a list of UUID’s and the associated VM; however I’m having a lot of trouble parsing this information out in a way that Ansible can actually use it. Does anyone have experience with this? Or at least can tell me that there’s a better way to be doing this? Thanks!

When I pull the VM details using powershell, the Guest OS for all of my VM is empty. I am using the correct syntax '$vm.guestOperatingSystem' to pull the information. All the other information like VMName, Container, PowerState, NetworkAdapters, etc... are coming except Guest OS and Description of VM. Even if I create a new Windows Server 2012 R2 VM, the Guest OS field shows nothing for new VM as well. I have 47 VMs currently on a Nutanix host but the Guest OS information is empty for all of them. Please let me know if anyone else is having this issue and how to resolve it. Details: ---------------------- Hypervisor: AHV

It’s totally available in Prism UI. But I find it impossible with API:In REST API, using PUT /virtual_disks/ “disk_capacity_in_bytes” receives 200 but not size changes. In ncli, using vdisk edit name=<> max-capacity=<> runs, yet the same no changes. Since the VM disk of this Linux VM doesn’t belong to any volume group, not an option for acli the way I see it.And if I do it via VM commands, it’s only able to create new disk or clone disk, not expand which is what I want.I really need an API for this job. Any ideas? Thanks!
