Hi All

We are running a 4 node nutanix Cluster with Hyper-V 2012 R2 . Also we are in the process of converting the Physical servers to virtual machines and in this regard one of the server uses a USB dongle. Therefore for Hyper-V to recognise a passthrough USB devie we are looking for 3rd party tool , But my question is does Nutanix supports connecting USB dongle on the Nodes. If Yes , what will happen if the VM is restarted on the other node ( do I need to reconfigure dongle or fix the dongle on the new node where the VM is currently running.

Best regards
Muralee

Hyper-V only supports USB passthrough as Mass Storage Devices, if this is all you need then it will work, until the VM is migrated to another host, then it will lose access.

We recommend using Digi AnywhereUSB for all hypervisors.

Hi Art

Thanks for the reply.

My requirement is not the Mass Storage , Instead it is for Software licensing via a USB Dongle.

In that case can the suggested solution fit in our purpose(I am also aware that the ERP software vendor should do the same study for his software compatibility as well)
