I managed to migrate a windows7 vm to Accroplis KVM.
I'm wondering if anyone has migrated FreeBSD/Solaris to KVM from ESXi.
Hi
Thanks for the questions. I know has some cool blog posts recently about moving to Acropolis Hypervisor - do you have anything to add here ?
Migrate RHEL 6.5 from ESXi to Nutanix AHV
Migrate Suse Linux from VMware ESXi to Nutanix AHV in minutes
Migrate Windows 2012R2 server from ESXi to AHV in 5 minutes
Thanks

Hi
I do work on XenServer to AHV migration for Windows 2012R2 and RHEL6.5. So far I have nothing for FreeBSD and Solaris. But I might try give a try in few weeks.

FreeBSD works fine with virtio as long as it's up to date.
Solaris and it's variants has it's issues specificly with the network adapters (virtio_net and e1000) do not work. I found a fix at https://bcodding.w3.uvm.edu/ticker/blog/2015/04/08/kvmlibvirt-solaris-11-networking/
I opened a ticket with support and are awaiting how I can apply that KVM setting to Nutanix.

Awesome good to hear!
Do you have a blog? would be cool to read about your project! if you don't have one and are interested in writing a guest post on the Nutanix NEXT Community site - let me know.
Thanks

I'll get back to you once I get the issue resolved.
Solaris and solaris derived variants with ZFS root file system requires extra steps to migrate to nuatnix compared to Centos/RHEL 6 which just work with nutnaix.
I think it's important for Solaris VM's be able to migrate to Nutanix.

Just to recap I need to pass -x2apic to kvm when solaris vm's are booted.
Hi,
Can you give me details about how you passed -x2apic for a Solaris VM? Thanks for your help.
