IMPI -> HTML5

Is an HTML 5 interface for the ASPEED remote console interface on the Nutanix/SuperMicro roadmap?
If yes, what's the ETA? If not, can we work together to have SuperMicro proirotize this?

Have you tried IPMIView? It's a SuperMicro app for talking to multiple IPMI controllers...definitely just a band-aid to get around the horrible Java in that web interface though.

Given Nutanix's focus on decoupling the software from the hardware, I would be (unfortunately) surprised if modernizing IPMI was a priority in their discussions with SuperMicro.

Can someone from Nutanix generate an RFE to SuperMicro ? I'd like confirmation once that is done.

- I came across this thread, wanted to follow up.

Are you asking for IPMI to be part of the Prism HTML5 console?

Or just that the IPMI have HTML5 instead of java?

Replacement of Java.

Don't we all? I above many loath Java with a passion.

SMC does support this in their mainline IPMI builds, but I'll see what we can do to see either roadmap or make a feature request.

On a side note, there's a lot of talk about Redfish (in general) in the industry, which is sort of a successor to IPMI. SMC is one of the first out of the gate with Redfish support, but it doesn't replace the Java KVM, unfortunately.

Really neat post from one of the redfish creators, here:

Also, if you've got access to portal.nutanix.com for support tickets, can you formally file an RFE ticket? That will help us track volume for this request.

Ask to have your ticket associated with JIRA ticket PM-524, which I have filed internally for this request (HTML5 ipmi support)

The more people we get asking for it, the larger voice we'll have to lean on our suppliers to get this done (or possibly do as a custom build ourselves).
