Good day

Please be so kind to assist with this issue. I cant seem to find a way to fix this on the nutanix Knowledge base.

The Alert shows up on PRISM stating Disk space usage for /home on Controller VM ...... has exceeded 95%.

Any advise would be apprecaited.

Thank you so much

Good day

Thanks for the reply. We got Nutanix in SA to clear some files on the CVM. Thank you so much.

This generally means exactly what it says, something's filed up the /home/ directory on the CVM that's firing the alert.

We can help you dive in via a support case and get in on WebEx. Looks like you're a Dell XC customer. If you file a ticket with Dell, they can pull us in and we'll put our heads together and get this solved for you.

Cheers,
Jon

Hi,
I also have the problem that there is not enough space to download updates on /home/nutanix. i just updated to 5.1.5 and wanted to make the next step. Can I manually delete files from e.g. last update?
thanks

Hi,
I now deleted Zipfiles from /home/nutanix/software_downloads to get the next update, is there no automatic deletion of the downloaded software after installation?
Most data is in /home/nutanix/data logs and installer files, can one remove them too?
thanks

@ikgadmin

when you want to upgrade AOS ,
Nutanix cluster has space that at least 3GB is available of /home, if not upgrade will be failed .
so when you faced the same situation , you should remove them again.
Today I realized in pre-upgrade check that one CVM was at 93% of used capacity, I had to move the *.gz files from /home/nutanix/data/logs to /tmp instead.

Removed a hypervisor old file located at /home/nuatix/software_downloads and recovered almost 1.5 Gigs, enough space to do the upgrade to 5.5.7 LTS.
