Is there a way to turn on indexing or something equivalent so that searching a SMB file share with hundreds of thousands of files actually returns a result, rather than sitting and spinning forever? It used to work back before we migrated this share from Windows Server to Nutanix Files share, but I’m wondering if maybe Windows Server had the files/folders indexed.

Yes, you need to add the share to the index of the windows machine to have it indexed on that specific machine.
