All, I have a 6 Node 1065 system in 2 blocks. Recently one of the CVMs (node 2, block A) crashed. When rebooted it was just going in loops. When diagnosed it seems the SSD (not the SATADOM) had failed and we replaced it. When we try to boot the CVM, it still just loops. We were told to boot that node with Phoenix which the cluster provided me for download. I do that and it doesn’t load Phoenix and gets errors instead. I’m looking for a suggestion of how to get the node back to 100%. At this point (and throughout) the ESXi on the SATADOM has booted fine and I guess if I didn’t care about the storage side I could just ignore this but I’d like the system to be fully healthy. Any suggestion about how to get the CVM working again would be appreciated. Thank you Johan
Hi, I am having two physical sites with on-prem nutanix cluster. I am trying to config async dr from primary to secondary site every one hour. So the snapshot will trigger every one hour and replicate to the secondary site. I read in the portal , the first replica is a full copy and the subsequent are incremental. My question here is , once my first replica, which is a full copy of my data was completed to the secondary site and certain period of time, my first replica will expire and deleted based on my retention configuration. In that case, how can I restore my full data with the help of incremental snapshot from the remote site?
Hi all - we have HUGE problems in Denmark with setting the correct Daylight savings in AHV A clock / time settings apprently not just an option in AHV.. We found that we neede to set this in Windows guests to get the clock correct - otherwise it was 2 hours wrong reg add "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESystemCurrentControlSetControlTimeZoneInformation" /v RealTimeIsUniversal /d 1 /t REG_DWORD /f Now when we have shifted to winter time CET instead of CEST and we shutdown the VM's the clock is 1 hour wrong!! What is the 100% correct way to handle time on AHV? I have never had issues on VMware, HyperV or Xen with this basic stuff.. 😞 If anyone could lead me to a KB or something about this issue?
I work as cyber security engineer. My client wants to deploy Nutanix on-premise and want to integrate existing ERP (Epicore) to Nutanix.Client has total 7 plants, including 1 Head Office and 6 Other plants at different location.Below is the network diagram that i have created:. I just want to know where and how should i integrate Nutanix, for better performance??What will be the Node details ,i.e, how many nodes are required? What will be the Node configuration?Requirement is Nodes with Gold Processor.!!!Server: Dell R640 Power Edge, RAM: 512, HDD=960GBx6
Are there ANY plans to expand on the PowerShell cmdlets at all, specifically for getting host info? They’re pretty bare bones. I don’t even know the last time the cmdlets were updated/expanded. It seems to me Nutanix regrets making them and hopes they will quietly die. I have relied heavily on PowerShell to keep tabs on a very large Nutanix environment running Nutanix on both AHV and ESXi. I’m talking 700+ nodes. The ESXi clusters are no problem getting the info from because I use VMware’s PowerCLI to supplement the lack of data I can get with Nutanix Cmdlets, but the AHV clusters are another story since I don’t have PowerCLI to fall back on. Can we at least get a cmdlet that will allow us to use PowerShell to initiate ncli or acli commands, like VMware does with the “Get-EsxCLI” cmdlet. That would be very helpful.
Hi TeamI am trying to setup Prism Central in Nutanix CE. I have configured the required details in Prism Console for deploying prism central. My deployment is failing repeatedly and getting the error saying it’s failed in tarball extraction phase. I have tried multiple times and every time I saw the issue in UI. I went through the /home/nutanix/data/logs/genesis.out logs to get more details on the issue. I found something interesting there. When we start the Prism central deployment, it first tried to download the prism central tarball and unzip it. One it’s unzipped then it’s start to convert the qcow2 file to image. when it start to convert the qcow2 → image , the command is configured with a timeout of 1800 sec. Please have a look into the below log line. 2024-07-01 08:55:17,702Z INFO 25030000 uvm.py:1606 Running cmd ['/usr/bin/timeout', '1800', '/usr/local/nutanix/bin/qemu-img', 'convert', '-p', '-f', 'qcow2', '-O', 'raw', u'nfs://127.0.0.1/default-container-40804253832490/pc.2022.
Hello Nutanix I am currently in progress of deployment of Acropolis File Services (AFS) Everything has been going well until the "Can't contact LDAP Server" error occured I have given it a check by viewing some configuration on NVM and found out that although on Prism, they have been assigned with 2 IPs but actually running with only 1 IP when checked via console by ifconfig command (eth0 only) Let me make it clearer via the "topology" below: CVMs connecting to NVMs by Subnet A IPs Clients, AD and DNS servers should be connected to NVMs by Subnet B IPs Recently, those NVMs are running with only 1 Subnet A IP although on Prism, I saw they have already assign with both Subnets?! My block is running with AOS 4.7.2. I have also given some seaches around and seen that both Internal and External networks could be the same as described in this video?! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-z11wVhBxA Thank you in advanced
Howdy all. I’m trying to install Nutanix CE on a blade server to evaluate it as an alternative to VMWare. How can I resolve this?
Hi TeamI had a complete working setup of Nutanix Community Edition along with Prism Central deployed. I was able to access my prism central through UI and Rest API for working with virtual machines. But suddenly i was disconnected from my PCVM today morning and was not able to access anymore. I tried to do ssh and logged in through PC UI but I couldn’t. I am able to log into both my AHV VM and CVM. In CVM, cluster status is showing all services are up and running.Referred this KB article but no luck.https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/kbs/details?targetId=kA00e000000CpzXCASCan you please help me here. Has anyone used Ansible for Automating Nutanix tasks. Can someone share some examples please.
