Is there a way to fetch the efficiency state for VMs (Bully, Over Provisioned, Constrained, Inactive VM, Good) using API requests?"

All licenses reset before clean re-allocation on two production clusters

Hi Guys,Can anyone confirm that it is possible to unlicense one or two NX clusters that are in production in order to re-allocate the same licenses but smarter?Explanation: We have 2 clusters with 3 AOS Pro licenses sets (Cores + FLASH)Set1: first 3 nodes of cluster1 (2019, renewed 2022)Set2: first 3 nodes of cluster2 (2021, renewed 2024)Set3: 2 more nodes, one for each cluster (2022)We should then have set1 allocated for cluster1, set2 for cluster2 and set3 split between the 2 clusters but currently each set is used partially in cluster1 and 2 which is a mess for next licenses renewal…So my target would be to reclaim all the licenses for both clusters and then reallocate them, cleaner,  through seamless licencing. Is that scenario possible without stopping the exploitation? Thanks for your advice and guidance.

Certificate errors in fresh installation

Hi again.So i did my fresh installation, and at long last the password worked.Now, i can access the https://ip-of-cvm:9440, but only using “Internet Explorer”Any other browser will say something like this:“IP” usually uses encryption to protect your information. This time when Microsoft Edge tried to connect to “IP“, the site returned unusual and incorrect credentials. This can happen when a hacker tries to impersonate “IP” or a Wi-Fi login screen has disconnected. Your information is still safe because Microsoft Edge disconnected before any data was exchanged.You can't visit “IP” right now because the site has sent encrypted credentials that Microsoft Edge can't process. Network failures and attacks are usually temporary, so this page will probably work again later. And using “Internet Explorer” it seems like a lot of virual elements arent displayed correctly.

Hi.So this is my first installation of Nutanix, and it is kicking my behind.I have done the installation, and i want to connect to the CVM, but it doesent accept the default password.https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/details?targetId=Nutanix-Clusters-AWS:aws-clusters-aws-using-prism-element-web-console-log-in-t.htmlI have tried root, admin nutanix and password “nutanix/4u” “Nutanix/4u”. So, what is the default password when SSH the first time to the CVM? Best RegardsJens.

UEFI VMs encounter random "inaccessible boot device" BSOD issue

Just wondering if anyone knows if there are any documented instances of someone being able to successfully re-inject the VirtIO drivers into a UEFI-based Windows VM?  At first, we thought it was just a VMware problem, but then we had the same issue happen on a native-AHV VM.  The VM operates normally for weeks, with regular reboots, but randomly after a reboot, it bluescreens with an "Inaccessible Boot Device" error.We haven't found a single "solution" that has actually fixed the problem.  We can get the VM to boot into recovery mode, but none of the recovery options work.  If we manually load up VirtIO driver from the command prompt (drvload vioscsi.inf) we can regain access to our drives, but adding the driver to the boot image via DISM does not help (dism /image:c:\ /add-driver /driver:vioscsi.inf).  The server reboots to the same blue screen.SFC doesn't help, neither do the standard bootrec options (i.e. bootrec /fixmbr, bootrec /fixboot, bootrec /rebuildbcd), nor does "bootsec /nt

Hello Guys I have a plan to refreshment nutanix from G5 to G8 or G9but I have a question. Can I add node G8 or G9 to cluster G5?So that I can migrate VMs completely before upgrading. Please, someone with experience, please advise me.Thank you

Hi,how do you think about migration of a single MS Exchange Server incl. its database via Move?I know that is not recommended but there are some technical facts for?In the past I’ve migrated a lot of MS SQL servers via Move without problems (migration offline while vm was powered off - virtio drivers were installed in a previous step).kind regards,Thomas

Need information on older versions of Nutanix

Hello,I wanted to know what is the oldest version of Nutanix that supports Linux kernel version 3.5.  Also, if there is any way that I could get an iso installer for that version so that I can review, that would be extremely helpful.  I’m trying to determine what version of a particular software will work with Nutanix and that software supports Linux kernal verison 3.5 and greater.  Thanks in advance for the help!Matt White

Nutanix CE installs but CVM does not create cluster in vmware nested environment.

Hi,I successfully deployed three nodes as VMs in my VMware nested environment without any issues. All are pinging each other. CVMs are also pingable from each other.But when I create cluster from a CVM, cluster creation failed, medusa and its below listed services are having DOWN status. Please help.Regards,Gurdeep Sandhu

Hello,I would like to get information of physical switch ports connected to virtual switch uplink ports via REST API. I don’t see API for the same in Prism Central v3 or Prism Element v2. Foundation Fatal Error

Hello FriendsHow are you? Currently i am trying to foundation A Nutanix 3 node environment but after the foundation process begins it will halt at “waiting for the installer to boot” stage with “fatal” error warning i don’t know what is causing the error can anyone tell me something.I have attached screenshots of errors and process.

Isseu installing Nutanix CE on CISCO servers

VMDK's not booting with Kernel panic error.

I have an OVA which I usually deploy on VMWare. when extracting the vmdk’s from it I get two of them. I am booting using a legacy bios (because the UEFI version just hangs in “press f2 for boot manager”) from the current disk and I get the following error:  Can anyone please help in resolving this issue? Thank you.

Evict VMware ESX node, rebuild with AOS for AHV

I’m new to Nutanix.  I’m trying to evict a Vmware ESX node from a cluster to rebuild it with AOS and join to our AHV cluster.  Is there a good document on how to evict the node?I found this document that essentially saysSelect the Infrastructure application from Application Switcher Function, and navigate to Hardware > Hosts . The system displays the List tab by default with all the hosts across registered clusters. Select the target host checkbox, and choose Remove Host from the Actions dropdown menu.Prism pc.2023.4 - Prerequisites for Removing a Node through Prism Central (nutanix.com)The options I have in the drop down are manage Categories and Run Playbook.  There is no remove host option.
