One of the most important customer benefits of the alliance partnership between Citrix and Nutanix lies in our joint commitment to solution integration. In 2016, Nutanix announced their Citrix MCS Plugin for Acropolis. They followed that up in 2017 with integrated support for the Citrix XenServer hypervisor and in 2018 with their Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) Plugin for Acropolis. Each of these solutions not only makes it easier for customers to deploy and manage Citrix components directly from the Prism console, but the fact that they are jointly developed and supported solutions gives customers peace of mind when using them.

Nutanix recently announced the availability of the first Citrix Workspace Appliance to customers called Nutanix InstantOn for Citrix Cloud. InstantOn for Citrix Cloud is a feature that comes with Nutanix AOS versions 5.5+, providing automated access to customers who prefer to use Citrix Cloud Services to manage their Citrix environment rather than installing Citrix components on premises. Because it’s built-in, that means all Nutanix Enterprise Cloud software is now essentially, Citrix Cloud ready.

Doing this not only makes it possible to not only completely deploy the environment in as little as two hours, but also move the responsibility of managing and maintaining the Citrix components from the customer to Citrix. By putting the Citrix control plane in the cloud and running Citrix as-a-service, and at the same time keep customer apps and their data on premises, Citrix customers can have hybrid cloud for Citrix Workspaces solution.

If you are attending .NEXT 2018 in New Orleans, please join me for our breakout session: Citrix Cloud and Nutanix InstantON for Citrix Cloud—Hybrid Cloud VDI Made Simple, Fast and Secure, Wednesday May 9 from 4:40-5:10pm in Great Hall B.
