Hi,

Im currently looking into a 3-node Cluster layout with NX-1155 hosts and PRO license as Remote Site for DR.

I would like to go for 3 nodes instead of a single node configuration because it can withstand block/node failures. But Im trying to keep it low on the price scale.

The one thing that keeps bothering me is that I want to be able to start a few user vms on the Remote Site. I know its possible but 64GB of RAM per host isnt much especially when the CVM blocks at least 24.

It has to compete against a 3node CE installation which im not in favour because i would like to have support/production grade software. But I could get hosts that supports more RAM and start more VMs if I need to.

What do you think?

So I contacted Nutanix support on this and got the following answer:

Using NX-1155-G5 nodes outside of a single node replication target is not a supported configuration. I would not recommend trying to set up a cluster in this fashion as it is definitely not tested and there is a good chance it will not work.

So thats no viable option.
