I am curious as to how you scale storage when not needing extra compute power. For instance, lets say I have 2 nodes and am running under VMware. On those nodes I have a total 10 VM's and 3 need lots of storage. I have configured the 2 nodes with the max number and size HD's they can handle.
Now, the 10 VM's in total need more storage than can even be configured in the 2 nodes. Do I have to purchase more nodes just to get the additional storage?

Yes storage of the entire cluster would need to be consumed before you would need more storage. But if that is the case you can add a "Cold Storage" node 6035-C which runs KVM for our Controller VM. It has minimal CPU and RAM as you will not run any guest VM's it only runs our CVM and provides cold storage.
