Image Service - Upload Fails with bigger ISO Images

Badge +4
Hi all,If I try to upload bigger ISO images, for example the WIN 2012 R2 ISO with round about 5.5 GB the upload fails at around 75% and kicks me out of PRISM.

Smaller ISO are working witout any issues.

Is there any log to watch why it exactly fails?

Hi Heiko
Did you try to change your switch as sometimes manage switches block burst traffic, try to use unmanaged switch if you are in beggining of your installation of your cluster.

There are few issues in the current version.

What error do you see when you log back in the prism ?

Have no specific error message.
The upload starts, then fails after a period of time and then logs you out of prism.

You can then log in back and the ISO is listed in the available images, but of course not complete

What is the upload percentage you see when the error is thrown for the image which is being uploaded.

Can you please send the failed task screenshot from the prism ?

Here is the screenshot:

Short after that it locks you out of PRISM and you have to re-login.The "Show me shy" doesn't do anything at all

What browser are you using, and which browsers have you tried?

We have a known issue with the current release wherein for bigger ISO files, prism will throw the error and set the state of the ISO as INACTIVE but while the conversion is going on in the backend.

If the image status becomes active after sometime, try using that ISO image and if it works fine then most likely you are hitting the issue I mentioned above.

Hi Jon,

the browser hint was a good one - tried it before with Edge, Internet Explorer and Firefox. All of them didn't work. But gave it a try now with Chrome - with this one the upload went through smoothly without any errors

The irony is that firefox is a recommended browser for prizm not chrome. 😉

Yea, and that was specifically because Chrome didn't support the proper underpinnings for the HTML5 console in Prism.

I believe the latest version of Chrome does support that now.

Specifically, it wouldn't pass "special" keyboard characters through correctly, but I think its fixed

Hi all,

I still have the same issue, also with chrome (OSX). Even with small and/or big ISO files. After uploading with error messages as listeted above, all files are shown as inactive.

Are there any updates on this?

Thanks,

OLI

Did you only try Chrome on OSX? or other browsers?

If just Chrome, what version are you on?

Just thinking outloud, we did have some branching issues with the current release, meaning a bunch of fixes (roughly 50) were checked into the commercial side late after we branched the CE side, so we could be hitting something silly we've already fixed.

We've JUST released commercial 4.7.2 with even more great fixes all around, and are planning to spin a new CE build off of that, so if we can wait, perhaps we can put a quick pin in this for now, and re-try after the next build is out, just so we're not chasing a silly rabbit/bug.
