I need vm details like CPU, memory

Hi Team,Part of automation, i need a vm’s cpu,memory for validation. right now im using rest api to get the vm details filter out, but when the vm numbers are more than 1000, its failing. is there any other way we can get these details

Rest API limit for /v3/vms/list

Hi Team, im trying to get the vm details using rest api 3 version, by using the following payloadcurl -X 'POST' -uxxx:xx 'https://onwer.com:9440/api/nutanix/v3/vms/list' -H 'accept: application/json' -H 'Content-Type: application/json' -H 'X-Nutanix-Client-Type: ui' -d '{ "kind": "vm", "sort_attribute": "string", "length": 2000, "sort_order": "ASCENDING", "offset": 0}'Here, if you see the 2000 length I have specified, but it's giving 1000 values only. Is there any other limit we need to increase ?For the same rest api Also, I'm getting “RangeError: Maximum call stack size exceeded” in the REST API explorer. Any suggestions for this ?

VMs won't power on - QEMU error

Hello, first time poster. I’ve created a one-node cluster on an intel NUC 10 (NUC10FNH) using latest phoenix image. install went fine after a couple of hardware bumps but node is up, CVM is running etc. The issue I’m having is I can’t power on any VMs I create. It only gives a generic “InternalException” error. In the uhura.out log, there are these entries “Error: HypervisorError: internal error: QEMU unexpectedly closed the monitor” and “qemu-kvm: Address space limit 0x7fffffffff < 0x4bcbfffffff phys-bits too low (39): 61”. Having a hard time trying to make sense of this. I’ve read other people running on the same hardware with no issues, maybe it’s the specific version of the CPU (it’s an i7-10710U). one-node cluster, 64GB RAM, one 500GB m.2 SSD and one 500GB SATA SSD. booting off a 64GB usb drive. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.

Nutanix Backplane network

Does the Nutanix Backplane network allow communication between nodes without routing ? I see the CVM’s communicate between the 192.168.5.x subnet, do the CVM’s communicate over L2 within the subnet or do they use L3 in the Nutanix internal network and if I were to disconnect the L1 Physical networking would the CVM’s still be able to communicate over this network ? I am running ESXi ontop of 4 nodes and just trying to establish if the external Physical network impacts the CVM’s on each node / esxi host, if we lost a HBA / physical adapter on that has the Backplane network would the cluster become degraded and would that CVM be offline or would it still be able to talk to the other CVM’s? Thanks

While looking for solutions, I found a similar case, but the resolution there was related to the processor rather than TPM.We're trying to perform a feature upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 through Intune, and this issue is blocking the process.Has anyone experienced this problem and found a solution?Thanks!

Disk Deletion Does Not Free Storage Space Immediately in Nutanix AOS

Environment AOS Version: 6.8.8 Hypervisor: AHV 2022.10 CVM: Nutanix CVM version 5.18.3 VM Guest OS: Ubuntu 20.04 LTS Storage Type: vDisk attached as AHV data disk DescriptionWhen I create a new vDisk, write data to it, and then delete the vDisk in Prism, the underlying storage space is not reclaimed immediately. I still see the same physical usage reported in Prism Element and on the CVM filesystem, even after: Deleting all snapshots and clones Running fstrim -v /mountpoint inside the VM Executing the Reclaim Space action in Prism Triggering a manual Curator scan (curator_cli scan start) I expect the deleted blocks to be freed right away, but they remain allocated for hours or even days.Steps to Reproduce In Prism Element, create a new 50 GB vDisk and attach it to a running VM. Inside the VM, format and mount the vDisk: mkfs.ext4 /dev/nvme1n1mount /dev/nvme1n1 /mnt/testdisk Write 20 GB of test data copying from windows os disk Unmount and delete the vDisk in Prism.

Do I need to licence the storage available in a S3 bucket configured as a tiering location in Nutanix Files?

Dear community, This is my 1st post/question here.We are storing raw data on one of our Nutanix Files. For the moment, 100 TiB are licensed on for it but these data are increasing quickly. These are mainly raw data that we need to store for at least 5 years. We also need to be able to access these files without any delay if needed in production.Therefore, we are looking for a way to free up space on Nutanix Files using tiering to be able to store these “cold” data in an S3 bucket with a tiering policy (after 1 year without access/modification, the data will be tiered on S3). This S3 bucket is for example 300Tib big.My question here is: we licenced 100Tib of this Nutanix Files with a NUS Pro licence. Do we also need to licence the 300Tib of storage used as a tiering location? Thanks for your helpLionel

GPUパススルーの構築方法

現在、本番環境構築の検証としてNutanix CEを導入したホストマシンを1台構築しており、その上にWindowsの仮想マシンを2台作成しています。仮想マシンに導入する製品ArcGIS Pro(GPU利用のソフトウェア)が正常動作するか検証したいのですが、Nutanix CEではvGPU用のドライバは利用できないと判明いたしました。代替案として、GPUパススルーを利用して1台ずつ動作検証したいと考えているのですが、構築する手順が分かっておりません。Nutanix CEでGPUパススルーの実装できるかご教示いただけないでしょうか。また、構築の参考となるマニュアルなどがあればご提供いただけないでしょうか。<環境>・ホストマシン 1台検証向けにNutanix CEを導入し、仮想マシンを作成AHV：バージョン 20230302.101026・仮想マシン 2台Windows 11 Pro 24H2ArcGIS Pro 2.9

Replacing (renewing) hosts for two node cluster

We have a two node cluster running hyper-V and hardware has come to EOL.We need to replace the nodes with new supported hardware and I cannot find any documentation for this, specially for a two nodes cluster. Is there any documentation available or can anyone provide the procedure? I know hardware replacement is supported for two nodes clusters, I just cannot find instructions for it. Thanks in advance

Issue with Booting Nutanix Installation on Lenovo HX630 V3 CN Servers

We recently acquired four new Lenovo HX630 V3 CN servers to deploy the latest Nutanix AHV and AOS. Our plan is to set these up on four AHVs and the latest Prism Central. According to the compatibility matrix, this configuration should be supported.I downloaded the latest AHV (AHV-DVD-x86_64-10.0.1-219) from the Nutanix portal and created a bootable USB. However, I encountered an error when attempting to boot into the Nutanix installation process.I understand that I need to use Foundation, but my servers are new and don’t have DiscoveryOS or something similar that would allow me to discover them with Foundation tools. Could you please advise on how to resolve this issue?

About single-node clusters

I plan to introduce NX-1150S-G9 as a single-node cluster and verify Move in combination with an existing 3-node cluster.Q1. I plan to create a cluster using Foundation VM, but can I create a single-node cluster this way? I think I can proceed with the wizard with one node selected, but please let me know if there are any precautions or other methods required.Q2. Can a single-node cluster be registered as a source or destination cluster in Move? I have not verified this, but I believe it is probably possible.Also, the single-node cluster I am talking about is not CE, but commercial. I look forward to your replies.
