Complete newbie not sure how to get to the config screen

Hi all the expert,I’m completely new to Nutanix.I tried to install the Nutanix Community Edition onto my existing rack mounted HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9 server, so I followed this YouTube video, but it’s definitely outdated, since the links shown on the video are different to the download links available from the post from 3 years ago (created on 29th September 2020) So I have downloaded the installer ISO (version ce/2023.03.01/phoenix-ce2.0-fraser-6.5.2-stable-fnd-5.3.4-x86_64.iso) and nothing else, since the other download links are for Windows, but my purpose is to install Nutanix itself onto the host directly to replace ESXi completely, so I thought the VirtIO for Windows ISO and AHV Plugin (.msi files) are not really applicable in my case.So it get stuck at the getting files screen for a long time, and then it errored out as the screenshot at the bottom, then a root login line showed up, I can’t even get to the grey screen to select the hypervisor and configure the IP like on the Ge

Amending the subnet of multiple VMs using Powershell or API

Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to amend the subnet associated to the NIC of multiple VMs via Powershell or API. Reading the documentation on PowerShell it appears this is maybe not possible without deleting the NIC and adding it. When attempting this via the API I am getting incorret uuid errors even though they are copied straight from the NIC.Many thanks,R

Hello everyone,We are looking for an automated and organized way to stop all machines and servers in the cluster.Can anyone help me create a playbook that will perform the following actions:Shutdown all machines in the cluster.Shutdown 3 CVMs - after ensuring that all machines in the cluster are shutdown.Stop the cluster - cluster stop.Shutdown the hosts.And is it possible to perform the reverse action? To start the cluster.Thank you very much.

Nutanix AHV VM disk accidentially deleted ...

Ok, let’s get straight into the topic. On one of our VMs, we had 3 local disks and 5 NICs and we intended to remove 4 of the 5 NICs, which are no longer necessary. Instead of deleting the NIC in the last row, a disk in the last row has been deleted and no, a snapshot of the VM has unfortunately not been created. Is there any possibility to recover the deleted VM disk from this specific VM with AHV/CVM command line? Thanks in advance for any help! Regards,Didi7

Nutanix CE installs but CVM does not create cluster in vmware nested environment.

Hi,I successfully deployed three nodes as VMs in my VMware nested environment without any issues. All are pinging each other. CVMs are also pingable from each other.But when I create cluster from a CVM, cluster creation failed, medusa and its below listed services are having DOWN status. Please help.Regards,Gurdeep Sandhu

Hello,I would like to get information of physical switch ports connected to virtual switch uplink ports via REST API. I don’t see API for the same in Prism Central v3 or Prism Element v2. All licenses reset before clean re-allocation on two production clusters

Hi Guys,Can anyone confirm that it is possible to unlicense one or two NX clusters that are in production in order to re-allocate the same licenses but smarter?Explanation: We have 2 clusters with 3 AOS Pro licenses sets (Cores + FLASH)Set1: first 3 nodes of cluster1 (2019, renewed 2022)Set2: first 3 nodes of cluster2 (2021, renewed 2024)Set3: 2 more nodes, one for each cluster (2022)We should then have set1 allocated for cluster1, set2 for cluster2 and set3 split between the 2 clusters but currently each set is used partially in cluster1 and 2 which is a mess for next licenses renewal…So my target would be to reclaim all the licenses for both clusters and then reallocate them, cleaner, through seamless licencing. Is that scenario possible without stopping the exploitation? Thanks for your advice and guidance.

Indexed search for SMB share?

Hi, I have seen a previous topic on this subject and noticed JeroenTielen said you need to add the share to the index of the windows machine to have it indexed on that specific machine. but how can you do such a thing when i see in Microsoft forum:Windows does not support indexing network shares. You may still search them, but this is done in real-time without indexing, so may be quite slow. what can i do to make searching in Nutanix shares faster?

3ノードクラスタ障害からの回復構築中の問題

こんにちは3ノードで運用していましたが、1ノードが故障したため、4ノード目を追加したのち障害ノードを削除するつもりでした。しかし、ノード追加してクラスタ拡張は完了と出たものの、4ノード目が正常は追加されていないように見えます。cluster statusを見ると4ノード目はMedusa以降がすべてDownとなっています。4ノード目は、追加前にmanage_ovsで設定変更を実施した際にWARNINGが出ていて、これを解消しないままノード追加をしてしまったのが不味かったのかもしれないのですが、復旧できるでしょうか？クラスタ拡張実施前に4ノード目で出ていたWARNINGは下記の通りです※全NICがbr0にアサインされている状態から、2nicのみbr0にしようとしましたnutanix@NTNX-51e75960-A-CVM:192.168.0.114:~$ manage_ovs --bridge_name br0 --bond_name br0-up --interface eth4,eth5 update_uplinks2024-04-13 12:40:07,181Z WARNING manage_ovs:1313 Failed to fetch gflags.
