Hi again. So i did my fresh installation, and at long last the password worked. Now, i can access the https://ip-of-cvm:9440, but only using “Internet Explorer”Any other browser will say something like this:“IP” usually uses encryption to protect your information. This time when Microsoft Edge tried to connect to “IP“, the site returned unusual and incorrect credentials. This can happen when a hacker tries to impersonate “IP” or a Wi-Fi login screen has disconnected. Your information is still safe because Microsoft Edge disconnected before any data was exchanged. You can't visit “IP” right now because the site has sent encrypted credentials that Microsoft Edge can't process. Network failures and attacks are usually temporary, so this page will probably work again later. And using “Internet Explorer” it seems like a lot of virual elements arent displayed correctly.
Hi.So this is my first installation of Nutanix, and it is kicking my behind.I have done the installation, and i want to connect to the CVM, but it doesent accept the default password.https://portal.nutanix.com/page/documents/details?targetId=Nutanix-Clusters-AWS:aws-clusters-aws-using-prism-element-web-console-log-in-t.htmlI have tried root, admin nutanix and password “nutanix/4u” “Nutanix/4u”. So, what is the default password when SSH the first time to the CVM? Best RegardsJens.
Hi all,I received the following error when I tried to create a protection policy with sync replication for one vm from two clusters managed from the same PC, “Failed to apply protection policy 'PP_sync' on the VM 'CentOS7-DEV' because 'Magneto is in recovery mode after PC DR'”. Some time ago I restored the PC but I didn't find any error before now, also NCC didn't report any issue.Regards
Hello,I am desperate, I have 2 disks and the USB stick with the ISo on my server. If I now want to install Nutranix, I get to the disk selection, but even if I assign the disks to the respective letters, only Phoenix ISO is still mounted at the endThen the install aborts and I can go back to the disk selection. If I enter H,C, or D, the system says either I need SSD's, or I must have 2 disks, which I have.Do I need ESXI on the server, not really if I use the AHV version?
Hi Guys,Can anyone confirm that it is possible to unlicense one or two NX clusters that are in production in order to re-allocate the same licenses but smarter?Explanation: We have 2 clusters with 3 AOS Pro licenses sets (Cores + FLASH)Set1: first 3 nodes of cluster1 (2019, renewed 2022)Set2: first 3 nodes of cluster2 (2021, renewed 2024)Set3: 2 more nodes, one for each cluster (2022)We should then have set1 allocated for cluster1, set2 for cluster2 and set3 split between the 2 clusters but currently each set is used partially in cluster1 and 2 which is a mess for next licenses renewal…So my target would be to reclaim all the licenses for both clusters and then reallocate them, cleaner, through seamless licencing. Is that scenario possible without stopping the exploitation? Thanks for your advice and guidance.
Just wondering if anyone knows if there are any documented instances of someone being able to successfully re-inject the VirtIO drivers into a UEFI-based Windows VM? At first, we thought it was just a VMware problem, but then we had the same issue happen on a native-AHV VM. The VM operates normally for weeks, with regular reboots, but randomly after a reboot, it bluescreens with an "Inaccessible Boot Device" error. We haven't found a single "solution" that has actually fixed the problem. We can get the VM to boot into recovery mode, but none of the recovery options work. If we manually load up VirtIO driver from the command prompt (drvload vioscsi.inf) we can regain access to our drives, but adding the driver to the boot image via DISM does not help (dism /image:c:\ /add-driver /driver:vioscsi.inf). The server reboots to the same blue screen.SFC doesn't help, neither do the standard bootrec options (i.e. bootrec /fixmbr, bootrec /fixboot, bootrec /rebuildbcd), nor does "bootsec /nt
Hello Guys I have a plan to refreshment nutanix from G5 to G8 or G9but I have a question. Can I add node G8 or G9 to cluster G5?So that I can migrate VMs completely before upgrading. Please, someone with experience, please advise me.Thank you
Ok, let’s get straight into the topic. On one of our VMs, we had 3 local disks and 5 NICs and we intended to remove 4 of the 5 NICs, which are no longer necessary. Instead of deleting the NIC in the last row, a disk in the last row has been deleted and no, a snapshot of the VM has unfortunately not been created. Is there any possibility to recover the deleted VM disk from this specific VM with AHV/CVM command line? Thanks in advance for any help! Regards,Didi7
Hi,how do you think about migration of a single MS Exchange Server incl. its database via Move?I know that is not recommended but there are some technical facts for?In the past I’ve migrated a lot of MS SQL servers via Move without problems (migration offline while vm was powered off - virtio drivers were installed in a previous step).kind regards,Thomas
I’m fairly new to AHV and Prism. We’ve been running Nutanix for a few years but our hosts are running ESXi. We’re setting up a new cluster with AHV and we’re planning to migrate everything there. One issue we have is that some hosts have the NVIDIA GPU card in them. In Vmware, I have affinity rules so that the VMs that use the GPU will only run on the hosts that have the GPU card. Can I do the same thing with AHV? Going through KB articles, I get mixed messages. One KB article flat out says that it’s not supported.
Hello, We have a couple of Nutanix clusters (with or without Prism) and we would like to monitor them from ELK. What would be the best ? Is there a KB on how to setup a web service collector ? ThanksNicolasHFR
Dears: Currently, I found a problem when using Prometheus to monitor Nutanix Objects according to https://prism IP:9440/oss/api/nutanix/metrics. This works fine for a long time. But when our AD team disable NTLM v1 in domain controller, problem happened, Prometheus could not work as before to get the data from API.Current Prometheus config is like below:- job_name: 'object_exporter_bucketname’ metrics_path: /oss/api/nutanix/metrics/[object store name]/[bucket name] scheme: https scrape_interval: 90s static_configs: - targets: [https://Prism Central IP:9440] tls_config: insecure_skip_verify: true basic_auth: username: [Prism Central service account] password: [Password of service account] Anyone know if NTLM v1 is used during API authentication?
Is there a way to fetch the efficiency state for VMs (Bully, Over Provisioned, Constrained, Inactive VM, Good) using API requests?"
