Presenting Storage to VMware

In our old enviornment, we were using EMC VNX and sizing each datastore to 2TB for VMware.

We are migrating to Nutanix and does it makes sense to create multiple datastore since we are using Nutanix storage now ?

Re: Presenting Storage to VMware

Hi Doran,

As best practice on Nutanix you have to use single container as single vmware datastore, unless you need to enable compression/deduplication for specific container/datastore for vms... keep in mind simplicity vs volume management in traditional..

@patrbng just adding some more pictures. as of AOS 5.0 two default container will be created. you can utilize one for your vm's file and another for AFS. compress and dedup can not work on same container
