5 Essential Tips for Maximizing Your Experience at Nutanix .NEXT for Bloggers
I have 8 port 10BaseT 10g switch and I have four nodes with dual 10g and dual 1g. I also have a 1g switch with 50 ports. If I plug all 8 10g nic into the 10g switch I will not have an uplink port. However I still have thx 8 1g nic. So this leaves me with a couple options, and I was curios what best practice would be. A few options I have consider are:

Only use one of the two 10g ports per node.
Configure AHV to use 10g for I/O only and 1g for connecting to the outside world. *not sure if this even doable*
The pasword for nutanix user was reset on the prism central system and now I am unable to login even though I am sure the password is correct. It seems it may have become unknown due to the console setting for special characters. In this case how do we recover login access to the node. I didnt set another sudo or other user for this system either.
Hi all, I read the acropolis administration guide and the Acropolis hypervisor Best Practices guide. thanks lot i would it and i have it. It's explain how to create bridge, bond, separe 10Gb interface and 1G interface. But nothing for create a network vlan (tagin or native) on the NEW bridge. If you try by the GUI like this The network will be created in the native Bridge (BR0) so if we are in this situtation : (best practice 4.1.2.1) the commands are : nutanix@CVM$ allssh "ssh root@192.168.5.1 "ovs-vsctl add-br br1" " nutanix@CVM$ allssh "manage_ovs --bridge_name br0 --bond_name bond0 --interfaces 10g update_uplinks" nutanix@CVM$ allssh "manage_ovs --bridge_name br1 --bond_name bond1 --interfaces 1g update_uplinks" and for create the Network : ac
Hello, I’m trying to configure two AHV clusters (3 nodes) for replication. Both environments are running AOS 5.11.2 on HPE DX360 Gen10. The network environment is spread between two stacks: one stack dedicated to the storage with 10Gb interfaces and one stack for the LAN with 1Gb interfaces. There is no connection between these two networks. After the deployment of the nodes and the configuration of the clusters, I start to configure the Backplane Network with the following parameter: Subnet: 172.16.250.0 Netmask: 255.255.255.0 VLAN: 202 Host node: br1 The backplane network of the first cluster works without any problem. When I do the same (with the same) for the second cluster, it fails. It says that the IPs addresses are already in use. I would like to specify a VLAN/subnet where both clusters have their backplane IPs so I can use the backplane network for the replication between both clusters. I hope this is clear. Kind regards, Fred
Our CVMs are locked down tight, I have no intention of allowing any internet access to PE, all support actions must be done through a webex session where our admin grants control to the support tech. but I have PC set up for NAT so it can communicate outside our private network. my question is, will pulse work strictly through PC or does PE need to be set up for it? Everything i see documented is about PE talking to insights.nutanix.com.
I'm looking at using Cisco IP Communicator on a Horizon View persistant desktop and would like some input on what others suggest for voice traffic prioritization. Some options I see: 1> Saying "It's on 10GB, it's fine" 2> Using a separate network (port group and VLAN) specifically for voice on a VSS with 1GB uplinks 3> Using a separate network (port group and VLAN) specifically for voice on a VDS with 1GB uplinks pinned to the port group 4> Using a separate network (port group and VLAN) specifically for voice on a VDS with 10GB uplinks 5> Using a separate network (port group and VLAN) specifically for voice on a VDS with 10GB uplinks and traffic prioritization on the TOR switches for the voice VLAN using IP Precedence (differentiated services code point [DSCP]) audio priority. Any thoughts community?
Is it possible for a single bridge can have multiple bonds? in which usecase it will be applicable? -Jai
I’m trying to setup a new bridge (br1). After ssh to the Nutanix AHV, I continue with input “ssh root@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx” to get to the CVM, it ask me for a password. Is there a way to change/ continue with a different logon name as well at that? The password I input is being denied due a different username for the CVM.
Do you know if Avaya Aura is already supported on Acropolis (AHV)? - If yes, where can I get more information about? - If not, do you know when? Thanks folks!
Hi guys,I want to run some tests on a local system, so I created two VMs that are isolated from my production network. So, I created a network in the cluster just to be used by these two VMs. This network does not exist in production, only within the cluster.I added the NIC for this network on both VMs. But even so VMs do not communicate, I cannot ping or access via SSH from one VM to another. This type of configuration, just for testing, is not possible with AHV \ AOS?
